In the right hands, Invisalign treatment can be a terrific way to align teeth without the use of metal appliances. Unlike ordinary braces that use metal wires and brackets to straighten your teeth, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear aligners to achieve the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Using 3-D computer imaging and the science of orthodontics, Invisalign aligners are a discreet way to straighten your teeth as an adult or teen. Each aligner is created specifically for your mouth, and should only be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. Each aligner will be worn for about two weeks at a time. Every time you replace an aligner with the next one, your teeth will gradually begin to move until your final alignment is achieved. Before you know it, you will have the smile you’ve always dreamed of!

Dr. Bailey and Dr. Spruiell believe that there are a number of benefits to choosing Invisalign aligners. Some of the reasons why our patients choose Invisalign treatment over traditional braces include:

  • Clear aligners that are virtually invisible to the naked eye
  • Removable appliances for eating, brushing, and flossing
  • No metal wires or brackets
  • Custom-made for optimal comfort
  • Treatment time of between 6 and 18 months vs. 12 to 36 months for braces

I did not know much about Invisalign, but after this experience, I'm convinced this is the best way to go versus braces. It was easy, as long as you follow what the doctor said to do. Dr. Bailey and his staff were very professional and friendly. Amazing results.

Highly recommend Dr. Bailey. He has assisted with Invisalign and veneers and always provided great and friendly service. For those more "mature" customers considering some work to improve your smile, urge you to check it out.

We were only going in for a second opinion because the previous ortho was pretty pushy with invisalign. While I think that is a great option for someone older thatat can be responsible for the treatment, my daughter felt braces were something she could do a better job taking care of. From the moment we walked in to the Flower Mound we were greeted by the sweetest gals at the front desk. Georgia promptly took us back and got some info and x-rays were taken. We were given great pictures and were given more details about braces by Georgia, she was incredible and answered every question. Just as we thought these people couldn't be any sweeter, in comes DR. BAILEY! He is high energy, super friendly and knows how to relate to teens and parents alike. He explained timeframe and why braces would be a great option for her in addition to going over x-rays. He, like Georgia, did not finish with us until he was assured we had no additional questions. We were happy to learn we could get started with treatment that day, and of course we did. Merium did a great job getting the braces on and helped with color choices. Dr. Bailey came by many times to ensure everything was going to his instruction. My daughter left beyond happy and I felt good about the process. This place is a well oiled machine and also super involved in their community.

How often must I wear my aligners?

You must wear your aligners for up to 22 hours daily. You may remove them for eating, drinking, and regular oral hygiene.

Are there any restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment?

No. Unlike braces, you may eat whatever you like as long as you remove the aligners before eating. Prior to placing the aligners back on, it is important to brush your teeth and the aligners after you eat.

Will wearing the aligners affect my speech?

Like any orthodontic treatment, there is a short adjustment period. The more you speak with the aligners on, the quicker you will adjust.

Is there any discomfort with Invisalign® treatment?

There will be some pressure and minor discomfort for a day or two after each initial insertion. This is a sign that your teeth are moving sequentially into their final position.

Can I chew gum?

It is recommended that you remove your aligners prior to chewing gum as the gum will stick to the aligners.

Can I smoke with the aligners in?

We discourage smoking with aligners as the cigarette smoke will tend to discolor them.

How do I keep my aligners clean?

Brushing them with a soft toothbrush and a mild antibacterial hand soap (don't use toothpaste) will keep them fresh and clean.

How often do I see an orthodontist while wearing Invisalign®?

Regular office visits are every five to six weeks. This will ensure that your Invisalign treatment is progressing as planned.

What happens after my treatment is complete? Do I need retainers?

All orthodontic patients are instructed to wear their retainers at night indefinitely. Sleeping with your retainers in at night will ensure a healthy bite and maintain the new position of your teeth.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment time varies depending on the severity of the misaligned teeth. Treatment time can be shorter than traditional braces, between six and 18 months.

Do Invisalign aligners work for kids?

Yes, if their teeth, including second molars, have grown in completely.
